  • Anthony Martial gets a new lease on his career with Sevilla on loan
  • The arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo changed the fortunes of Martial at Old Trafford
  • Martial will be playing for Sevilla until June

Anthony Martial gets a chance to get his act together after a struggling spell with Manchester United.

The French striker is reportedly headed to Sevilla on loan for the rest of the season, a move that can somehow help up his value heading into the summer.

It was initially reported by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, stating that the Red Devils and the Palanganas have reached an agreement.

The report also added that Sevilla will cover the salary of the 26-year-old footballer until June.

Expected to arrive in Spain in the next few hours, Martial is earning about £250,000 ($336,816) a week, hinting that the cost of the loan is likely to be near the £6.5 million ($8.8 million) mark.

For Martial, the development should breathe new life into his career after failing to get opportunities with the Red Devils.

Across seven seasons, Martial started in 133 English Premier League matches, appearing in 175 games overall.

In addition, he has scored a total of 56 goals and issued 25 assists thus far.

His fortunes changed ever since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in the last summer transfer window.

As a result, he has fallen behind the likes of Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani in the pecking order ever since.

Before the Sevilla loan, there were several teams interested in the services of Martial. That list included Tottenham, Newcastle United and Juventus.
