Tom Cruise revealed that he doesn't require any days off from work because he loves what he does. The 59-year-old also explained that the days he doesn't film is "day off" for him.

"This is a day off for me, because I am not shooting," Cruise told Bella Magazine, ET Canada reported Sunday. "I’m just chillin’ now. I don’t have days off."

The actor explained how fortunate he considers himself to be for doing what he always wanted to do with his life, adding that he is living the dream.

"Look, I’m fortunate, I’m lucky. I’ve spent my life on movie sets and travelling the world, which is what I always wanted to do," he added. "So this is not work – I’m living the dream."

Cruise will be next seen in the highly anticipated sequel, "Top Gun: Maverick," slated to release on May 27. The movie is helmed by director Joseph Kosinski and it also stars Val Kilmer, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly and Ed Harris.

"Top Gun: Maverick" revolves around Maverick's character who teaches a batch of new pilots to go on a deadly mission that needs an ultimate sacrifice.

The first installment of the franchise was dropped in 1986, titled "Top Gun." Actress Kelly McGillis played Cruise's love interest in the movie.

McGillis previously revealed the reason behind not reprising her character in the upcoming sequel. "I'm old, and I'm fat, and I look age-appropriate for what my age is," the 64-year-old actress said. "And that is not what that whole scene is about."

However, the director of the flick shared that he wanted the story to move forward rather than backward. Hence, he decided to introduce new characters in the movie instead of bringing back old ones.

Cruise dropped the trailer of the "Top Gun: Maverick" via Twitter in March.

Apart from "Top Gun: Maverick," the actor will be next seen in the movies like "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning - Part One," "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning - Part Two" and "Live Die Repeat and Repeat."
