George Cacioppo, a senior vice president at Sony Interactive Entertainment in the PlayStation network, has been fired after allegedly trying to meet up with a 15-year-old boy.

“We are aware of the situation and the employee in question has been terminated from employment," Sony wrote to CNET in a statement on Sunday.

An amateur pedophile sting operation on YouTube allegedly shows 64-year-old Cacioppo stepping out of his home. He allegedly had a meeting set up on Grindr, the gay online dating app.

Information related to the case, including messages sent on Grindr, was sent to the San Diego County District Attorney’s office. Though Cacioppo has not been criminally charged, the New York Post confirmed that there is an investigation underway.

Spokesperson Adam Sharki with the San Diego Police Department told the Post “there is an active investigation being led by the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC).”

Cacioppo worked for PlayStation for over eight years. According to his LinkedIn profile, Cacioppo worked for over five years at Intuit, as a vice-president of software engineering for TurboTax.
