KEY POINTS

  • The Scorched Zealot set added a powerful new Heatwave mod
  • The new mod synergizes perfectly with existing Acari burn builds
  • Stack as much Anomaly Power possible in every armor piece

The Acari set has always been a staple pick for Pyromancers in “Outriders,” and the new expansion added a few new armor mods that can make the usual Heatwave and Overheat build even more potent.

Here’s a quick overview of the new and improved Acari build to help players push through the harder Apocalypse tiers in “Outriders Worldslayer.”

Armor Mods

  • Fire Tsunami
  • Tidal Wave
  • Detonator
  • Ride The Wave
  • Anomaly Echo
  • Burnt-Out
  • Unstoppable Force
  • Sunburnt
  • Scorched Earth
  • Inferno Wave/Master Consumer

This build requires three pieces of the Acari set and the boots of the Scorched Zealot set for the Scorched Earth mod, which makes Heatwave travel backward after reaching its maximum range. This will essentially double the number of Heatwaves players have.

The rest of the mods are meant to improve the damage of Heatwave and Overheat. With the mods above, players will get three Heatwave casts per cooldown, each dealing more damage every time they pass through an enemy thanks to Scorched Earth and the Acari set bonus.

Inferno Wave can be swapped out for Master Consumer for more burst damage, and Tidal Wave can be replaced by a defensive mod like Emergency Stance for more survivability. Heatwave locks players in position during its relatively lengthy cast time, and there will be times when mobility is required.

Class Setup

Go down the usual Tempest route in the Class Tree to buff the damage of Overheat, and be sure to take the Phoenix Nestling node for the sake of having an extra safety net.

For the Pax tree, take the nodes at the top and cap it off with the Burnt Offerings node. This will greatly increase the damage of Burn effects, making Heatwave incredibly powerful against common enemies.

Take Heatwave, Overheat and Ash Blast as the three main abilities. Feel free to use Overheat as an emergency heal ability since it can bring players back to full health in a single use as long as there are enough enemies nearby.

As for weapons, Deathshield or the new Final Penance double gun are great for Anomaly Power builds. Use either of these and mod them with either Shadow Comet, Ultimate Lightning Whip or Wrath of Moloch to maximize DPS.
