The early favorites in the 2022 NFL MVP race are set to go head-to-head. Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson have the best odds to win the award ahead of Sunday's matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens.

Allen is the clear favorite with +300 odds at FanDuel Sportsbook to win this year's MVP award. Jackson's +550 MVP odds are the second-best among all players after three weeks.

Allen entered the 2022 season as the MVP favorite, and his odds have only gotten better during Buffalo's 2-1 start. The Bills quarterback leads the league with 1,014 passing yards. He ranks second with nine touchdown passes and fourth with a 109.8 passer rating.

Jackson is the league leader in passer rating (119.0) and passing touchdowns (10). The Ravens quarterback is only 17th in passing yards (749), but his 243 rushing yards are tied for fifth in all of football.

The MVP race will likely feature many changes over the next few months, but Sunday's contest could potentially play a role in the ultimate winner. Buffalo and Baltimore are tied for the second-best record in the conference. If either team finishes atop the AFC standings, the quarterback will have an edge when the final votes are tallied.

The last five MVP winners have been the quarterback for a No. 1 seed. Jackson won the 2019 MVP award when he led the Ravens to a league-best 14-2 record.

The Bills are favored to enter the playoffs as the AFC's No. 1 seed. Buffalo scored 72 combined points in the first two weeks of the season. Even in a 21-19 upset loss against the Miami Dolphins, the Bills outgained their opponent by 285 yards.

Buffalo is third with 30.3 points per game. Baltimore's 33.0 points per game are the most in the NFL.

In the Ravens' Week 3 win over the New England Patriots, Jackson became the first player to ever record at least three passing touchdowns and 100 rushing yards in consecutive games.

Jalen Hurts has been the biggest surprise in the early MVP race with +600 odds. Hurts ranks third in passing yards and fifth in passer rating while leading the Philadelphia Eagle to a 3-0 start.

Patrick Mahomes (+700) is the only other player who has better than +1500 MVP odds.
