KEY POINTS

  • The Cowboys are reportedly in the mix for the services of Odell Beckham Jr.
  • Beckham could be the missing piece for the Cowboys' Super Bowl aspirations
  • He has yet to be fully cleared to return to NFL action

Odell Beckham Jr. has yet to finalize his return to the NFL, but a return to the Los Angeles Rams is something pundits are expecting.

However, the reigning Super Bowl champions could be in for some competition with reports that that Dallas Cowboys are now entertaining thoughts of possibly adding the three-time Pro Bowl champion.

This is according to a report from NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.

The scribes bared that the 30-year-old is on the radar of the Cowboys and is expected to be in the mix once Beckham is fully cleared and ready to play pro football once more.

Backing this up is no less than Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones who suggested on a radio show that wearing a Cowboys football helmet suits Beckham.

"Odell is someone that we have all the appreciation in the world for what he is as a competitor," Jones said. "I know the Cowboys star on that helmet, when he puts it on, could look pretty good."

Now, another figure from the Cowboys' end has backed a potential coming of Beckham Jr. in linebacker Micah Parsons.

In a report from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Parsons stated how Beckham could expand their offense and help their cause.

"I think he's a great player. He'll expand this offense. He's a guy you want on the team besides all the other critics stuff that people make up and s--- about him. He can add real value to the team and help us do what we want to do," Parsons mentioned.

Running back Ezekiel Elliott also appeared open to the idea of playing with Beckham if a deal could be done.

"We want him," Elliott said. "We want OBJ."

The Cowboys hold a 6-2 win-loss record. They last won over the Philadelphia Eagles as Dallas ramped up their chase for the NFC East crown.

The Cowboys are one of the top NFC teams right now, and adding someone like Beckham could provide an added boost to their 2022-23 NFL campaign.
