Wireless earphones are all the rage these days and Apple's AirPods are the most desirable of all the wireless earphones out there. The device is favored by many high-end users because of the superior sound quality and easy controls.

Numerous AirPod users are not aware of the interesting and beneficial functions, and tricks of the device. It has amazing capabilities that ensure you get the most from the gadget.

Assuming you've already set up your AirPods, there are still plenty of things to discover about them. Here are some top tips and tricks to ensure you master your Apple wireless earphones in no time.

Locating a lost or stolen AirPod

Apple's Find My app is a lifesaver for those who are prone to losing things. If your AirPods are linked to your Apple ID and you've set up Find My on your iPhone, you'll be able to view your AirPods' last known location on a map.

The app will show you the AirPod's current location, as well as provide directions to it. You can also use the app to play a sound on the AirPod if it's nearby an Apple device and connected to Bluetooth.

Saving battery

If you're looking for a truly wireless experience, you'll be glad to know that one AirPod can work on its own as a Bluetooth headset. Keep the other one in the case to charge, and then swap as needed. This means you can use it to take calls or listen to music without having to worry about running out of battery mid-conversation.

Creating makeshift hearing aids

iPhone has a great feature called Live Listen, which turns AirPods into on-demand hearing aids. This is an extremely helpful feature for conversation in difficult environments, however, it requires a bit of setup.

To enable Live Listen on your iPhone, you'll need to go to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls. Then, find the Hearing option and tap on the green "+" symbol next to it. Once you've done that, you'll be able to use the Live Listen feature by putting in your AirPods and opening Control Center on your iPhone. Then, choose the Hearing icon and tap on Live Listen.

Siri makes life easy

With Siri, you can easily have your AirPods read your incoming messages aloud to you as without lifting a finger. You can also reply to the message with a simple voice command - how convenient! To turn on the feature, open the Settings app and go to Notifications. Then, scroll down to Announce Messages with Siri and flip the switch to the ON position.

If you want to reply to the message, simply say "Reply" and then dictate your response. Once you're done talking, Siri will either read the message back to you for confirmation or will directly send the message, depending on your settings.

Note: You'll need to have iOS 13.2 or iPadOS 13.2 installed on your iPhone or iPad to have Siri read your messages. Furthermore, you must have one of the following sets of AirPods -- AirPods (2nd generation) or AirPods Pro.
